Recommendation:
Approval of Modification #3 for renewal with Cherry Bekaert LLP to provide external audit services. The contract modification has been approved as to form by the County Attorney’s Office.
Summary:
The initial contract to Cherry Bekaert LLP was approved by the Board of Supervisors and awarded on April 9, 2014. This is the third renewal year of a four year renewable contract at the option of the County.

Additional Background/Other Considerations:
This contract includes auditing services for the County and Schools of Spotsylvania County. The results of the annual audit are reported in a joint session to the Spotsylvania County Board of Supervisors and the Spotsylvania County School Board.
Consequence of Denial/Inaction:
The County will be in violation of State Code section 15.2-2511, which requires annual audits of financial records.
