| At the annual Virginia Association of Destination Marketing Organizations (VADMO) meeting the Food Truck Rodeo received the Virgo Award for Niche Tourism Special Interest/Other for 2016. The Food Truck Rodeo was well attended and successful for the vendors. |

| The 2nd annual Food Truck Rodeo featured 26 food vendors (including the local businesses that did sidewalk concessions) and 4 local artisan vendors. Free entry & free parking proved key ingredients for this successful event. Musical entertainment included performances by Grassland Bluegrass Band, The Courthouse School of Ballet as well as Christian Youth Theatre providing students in princess costumes mingling w/the crowds. The LOVE artwork was dressed up in cowboy attire giving a western theme for numerous photographs by the public. The Free Lance-Star featured this event on their Sunday edition complete w/pictures, quotes and a recap of the event including the winners of People’s Choice Awards.
VADMO Virgo Award for Niche Tourism – A statewide competition of the tourism destination marketing organizations. The competition was judged by a panel of three out-of-state peers who made their determinations based on the quality of the submission, economic efficiency, and the economic or community impact
