Recommendation: Approve the award of a contract to Nostos SS Contractors, LLC in the amount of $200,200.00 to provide the Battlefield Elevated Water Storage Tank Renovation.  The contract has been reviewed and approved as to form by the County Attorney’s Office.
Summary:

An Invitation for Bid (IFB) was issued by the Spotsylvania County Procurement Division on April 10, 2017 to solicit bids from qualified contractors for the Battlefield Elevated Water Storage Tank Renovation.  The bids were opened on April 27, 2017.  Two (2) bids were received for this procurement as follows:

Additional Background/Other Considerations:

This contract will provide construction services and materials for cleaning, repairing and painting for the Battlefield 250,000 gallon elevated water storage tank located behind Battlefield Elementary and Middle Schools on Leavells Road.  Work on the exterior of the storage tank must be completed by September 1, 2017, prior to the school year starting.  Work on the interior of the storage tank must be completed by September 29, 2017.
Consequence of Denial/Inaction: The Battlefield Elevated Water Storage Tank is in need of renovation.  If this project is not completed, the tank will gradually worsen and will cost more to repair.  This renovation will preserve the condition and the appearance of the tank.
