A review of the existing remote attendance policy and it was identified that clarifications to the existing policy were required to ensure the County's boards and commissions were in compliance with state code. Key areas of revision include:
1)Distinction between a request for remote participation for an emergency or personal matter and a request for remote participation due to a temporary or permanent disability or other medical condition
2)Clarification of the process through which a member may request remote participation and requirements by which the board or commission can grant or deny request
3)Clarification of conduct of the meeting with member participating remotely
4)Refinement of technology methods of remote participation
5)Removal of requirement that requesting member be responsible for all charges at the member's remote site |
