Summary:

A current employee has contacted the Board requesting support to permit donation of accrued leave from one employee to another employee.  Staff has created a presentation to provide background information on all of our income protection benefits to include:  sick leave accrual, sick leave bank, short-term disability and disability retirement.

The impact of adopting a leave donation policy is unknown due to the absence of historic data and the unknown level of anticipated use.

Consequence of Denial/Inaction: Staff recommends that the current benefits in place be utilized to provide income protection without the addition of a leave donation policy and benefit.
