Recommendation:

Staff recommends that the Board approve the Fort A.P. Hill Steering Committee MOU
Summary: One of the implementation items from the Fort A.P. Hill Joint Land Use Study (JLUS), adopted February 10, 2015 (Resolution No. 2015-29), was the establishment of an executive steering committee to create a formal platform for communication, coordination, and collaboration among the parties to the JLUS. A MOU creating the Fort A.P. Hill Executive Steering Committee (FESC) has been drafted and approved as to form by the County Attorney’s office. The FESC will meet at 9:00 a.m. on the second Wednesday of April and September each year.

Additional Background/Other Considerations: With adoption of the MOU, Chairman Ross will need to appoint a primary and an alternate member from the Board of Supervisors to serve on the FESC.
Consequence of Denial/Inaction:

Spotsylvania County will not be part of the Fort A.P. Hill Executive Steering Committee.
