Recommendation: Approve the award of a contract to J. King DeShazo, III, Inc. in the amount of $550,500.00 to provide construction services for the Motts Run Water Treatment Plant Roof Replacement. The contract has been reviewed and approved as to form by the County Attorney’s Office.
Summary:

An Invitation for Bid (IFB) was issued by the Spotsylvania County Procurement Division on April 12, 2017 to solicit bids from qualified contractors for the Motts Run Water Treatment Plant Roof Replacement. The bids were opened on May 16, 2017.  Five (5) bids were received for this procurement as follows:

Additional Background/Other Considerations: This contract will provide construction services and materials for the roof replacement at Motts Run Water Treatment Plant.
Consequence of Denial/Inaction: The roof system at the Motts Run Water Treatment Plant is in need of cyclical replacement, project addresses electrical repairs and water proofing issues as well.  Denial will result in facility deteriorations and escalated future cost.
