Recommendation:

The Planning Commission held a public hearing on September 20, 2017 and on a motion by Mrs. Carter, seconded by Mr. Smith, voted 6-0 to recommend approval of the zoning.

 

Staff recommends that the Board adopt the attached ordinance, RO17-0009,  approving the zoning.

Summary: The applicant, VRE, requests that a portion (approximately 4.77 acres) of tax parcel 37-A-41A, which currently has no zoning designation, be zoned Industrial 1 (I-1). No proffers are offered with this zoning request. The 4.77 acres in question is located just south of the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) maintenance yard and is part of approximately 19.5 acres which VRE has under contract to purchase.
