| A Request for Proposal (RFP) was issued for fire apparatus by the Public Procurement Authority for members of National Purchasing Partners (NPPGov) of which the County is a member. The County is purchasing a 2018 model year Pierce Velocity Platform fire truck and a 2018 Pierce Enforcer Rescue Pumper. The Velocity Platform fire truck will be assigned to Station 1, to replace an existing 1993 model. The Enforcer Rescue Pumper will be assigned to Station 8, to replace an existing 2007 model. |

| Failure to purchase the replacement Platform Tower Ladder and Rescue Pumper will result in continued increased maintenance and repair costs associated with keeping the much older apparatus in a response-ready status. This would jeopardize the reliability of the emergency response apparatus. |
