Recommendation:
Approve the award of a contract to Esitech, Inc., to provide security system equipment, components, installation and maintenance.  The contract has been reviewed and approved as to form by the County Attorney’s Office.

Staff is requesting approval of a contract to Esitech, Inc. for security system equipment, components, installation and maintenance.
Summary:
A Request for Proposal (RFP) was issued by the Spotsylvania County Procurement Division to solicit proposals from qualified contractors to provide security system equipment, components, installation and maintenance.  One (1) proposal was received for this procurement.  A Selection Committee reviewed the proposal which resulted in a recommendation to award to Esitech, Inc. in the amount of $682,522.15 for a complete turnkey system.
Financial Impact:
Funds are budgeted and available within the Judicial Center Security System project (GP1812).

Additional Background/Other Considerations:
This contract will provide detention area security grade security system equipment, components, peripherals, cameras, access control devices, touch screen monitors, call box intercoms, security doors, door frame, electronic locksets, software, other components, programming of the proposed system, installation of system components, maintenance of the system to include the County’s existing security system and maintenance of components installed for future expansion or upgrade.
Consequence of Denial/Inaction:
Failure to approve this contract could jeopardize the safety of law enforcement, judges, prisoners and the public due to the loss of functionality of cameras.
