| Staff requests approval to advertise a public hearing regarding proposed amendments to Spotsylvania County Code Chapter 12, Article VII (Towing ordinance). Staff asks that the requested public hearing, along with the vote on the proposed amendments, take place at the June 26, 2018 meeting. |

| The proposed amendments and additions to the County’s Towing ordinance make several additions and corrections to the present Towing ordinance regulating law enforcement requested tows. Additions include several new definitions, the inclusion of heavy-duty towers, specific tow vehicle requirements, towing fees, and tower identification cards. Members of the Towing Advisory Board and Legal Staff are making a presentation detailing the proposed amendments and explaining the necessity for same. Staff requests approval to advertise a public hearing regarding the proposed amendments, with said hearing to take place at the June 26, 2018 meeting. |
