The South Koreans presented site locations that they researched before their contacting the County and presented us with a list of sites in specific localities using Spotsylvania County as a rural yet growing site to be followed by the LID center in Maryland then Washington DC and finishing in Fairfax County.
Summary:
Richard Street received a request to go to South Korea to explain how Low Impact Development (LID) works. On July of 2017 the South Korean Government hosted the international LID conference. Mr. Street explained the benefits of LID with the multiple ways it can be successfully incorporated into any site’s designs. The presentation was so well received that they wanted to come to the U.S. and see how well it works before they implement their program nationwide.

During the presentation staff explained the history of LID in Spotsylvania.
•We explained the successes and failures but also provided ways to make it work better.
•They asked many questions about the regulations, incentives and benefits of LID. Basically how do they make it work for them
