| The Board included $50,000 in the FY 2018 Budget to the support the maintenance and improvement of accommodations for the Shannon Collection of antique aircraft that has returned to Spotsylvania County for display at the Shannon Air Museum, expressly contingent upon the execution of an MOU between the Shannon Air Museum and Spotsylvania County. Shannon Airport’s owner, Mr. Luke Curtas, recently reiterated his desire to complete an MOU and secure the budgeted county support. The attached MOU has been drafted based on dialogue with Shannon Air Museum, and Mr. Curtas has indicated that the terms of the MOU are acceptable and that he would appreciate County approval of the same. The MOU provides that, in consideration of the County’s financial support in the form of the $50,000 budgeted for FY 2018, the Shannon Air Museum will provide tours free of charge to Spotsylvania County school groups and county students. |
