Recommendation: Staff recommends approval of partial appropriations for the FY 2019 Adopted Budget whereby the full budget as adopted is appropriated with exception of $1 million each in the General Fund and School Operating Fund.    
Summary:

The Board of Supervisors is required to appropriate the FY 2019 Adopted Budget before expenditures can begin occurring on July 1, 2018.  Recommended partial appropriations for FY 2019 are attached and are consistent with the FY 2019 Adopted Budget with exception of a $1 million reduction in both the General Fund and the School Operating Fund pending staff's full understanding of the financial impact of the final State budget for FY 2019 on each of these funds.

 

Please note that aside from the $1 million reduction, the appropriation for the General Fund is $1,285,962 less than the total budget approved for that fund because there is no need to appropriate tax relief.

Consequence of Denial/Inaction: If the appropriations are not approved, the County will not be able to continue operations beyond June 30, 2018 without approval of at least partial FY 2019 appropriations prior to June 30, 2018.
