| Staff recommends that the Board of Supervisors authorize a public hearing to consider the creation of the Jackson Village and Alexander's Crossing Special Service District. |

| | | | | | | | Summary:
| The Board of Supervisors directed staff to develop an ordinance to establish a Special Service District (SSD) over the property included in the Jackson Village and Alexander's Crossing rezonings. The attached ordinance is consistent with Board direction creating a SSD including the two rezoning projects and including portions of Rt 1 and Massaponax Church Road adjacent to the projects. The proposed special tax rate is set at $0.30 per $100. The funding may be used for improvements to Rt. 1 and Massaponax Church Road adjacent to the project and to fund construction of a bridge over I-95 between the two projects. The boundary does include several Industrial 1 (I-1) zoned parcels along Rt. 1 in order to have a contiguous district, but the ordinance exempts I-1 zoned land from the special tax. So, while the I-1 parcels are included in the boundary, there will be no tax consequence associated with the district to those parcels. |
