The Board of Supervisors is requested to recognize Sharon A. Martin, Sandra R. Orris, Patrick A. Stambaugh and Michael D. Mitchell as being selected as the General Government Employees of the Quarter “Service Excellence Award” recipients for the first quarter, second quarter and third quarter of 2018 respectively.  In addition, the Board of Supervisors is requested to recognize David M. Flint, Brian R. McPherson, Shannon S. Taylor, 911 Communications Officers/Operators and Michael J. Barber as being selected as the Public Safety Employees of the Quarter “Service Excellence Award” recipients for the first quarter, second quarter and third quarter of 2018 respectively.

Beginning with the 2009 calendar year, the Department of Human Resources implemented changes to the current Employee of the Month "Service Excellence Award" Program, which is now the Employee of the Quarter ”Service Excellence Award" Program.  This program is designed to recognize employees that consistently exemplify the County’s commitment to providing extraordinary customer service to customers inside and outside the organization.  All Spotsylvania County employees are encouraged to submit nominations for any employee or group of employees.  Nominations are evaluated based on one or more of the following criteria:  displayed enthusiasm when handling customer issues, providing prompt efficient service, utilized all resources to resolve a customer issue or complaint, identified and took active measures to resolve problems, actively sought knowledge about customer issues and/or strived for the ultimate satisfaction of the customer.
