Recommendation:
Approve the addition of a staff position (1 full time equivalent (FTE)) entitled Deputy Director of Human Resources for the remainder of the FY19 budget and beyond.
Summary:
Prior to the resignation of the Director of Human Resources on May 11, 2018, staff was preparing to advertise for a Deputy Director of Human Resources. Upon the resignation of the Director, the Human Resources Generalist was placed in the position of Interim Director of Human Resources. County Administration is now seeking authorization to add a Deputy Director of Human Resources position and move forward with the advertisement of the Director of Human Resources position currently being held by the Interim Director. The Human Resources Generalist position has been filled in order to address operational needs of the department. The addition of a Deputy Director of Human Resources (1FTE) is also needed.
Financial Impact:
County Administration is anticipating that the position will not be filled until toward the end of the FY19 budget. Funding is included in the FY20 budget.
