Additional Background/Other Considerations:

Spotsylvania, Stafford, and Fredericksburg have been marketing the Region as a partnership with a MOU since 1994. The MOU is to be renewed every 3 years with approval of the three governing bodies.

Stafford and Fredericksburg are currently conducting studies on tourism and economic development that will not be finished until the end of 2019.  The current MOU is due for renewal in June of 2019.  The studies may impact the MOU, so we are requesting that the current MOU be extend for one year to allow for ample time to make changes as appropriate.

Consequence of Denial/Inaction: Spotsylvania would not extend the MOU for 1 year with a financial impact to not continue the MOU
