Recommendation: Approve the award of a Purchase Order to Truck Enterprises Richmond, Inc., in the amount of $129,950.00 to provide a 2020 model year Kenworth T800 Conventional Tractor.
Summary:

An Invitation for Bid (IFB) was issued by the Spotsylvania County Procurement Division to solicit bids from qualified dealers for the purchase of a new road tractor. The bids were opened on January 3, 2019.  Three (3) bids were received for this procurement as follows:

The low bidder, Goodpasture Motor Company did not meet specifications; therefore award is being made to the next lowest bidder, Truck Enterprises Richmond, Inc.

Additional Background/Other Considerations:

The Purchase Order has been reviewed and approved by the County Attorney’s Office.  The new Road Tractor will replace a 2005 Mack CHN 613.
Consequence of Denial/Inaction: Denial of this purchase will result in increasingly unreliable equipment.
