| The policy establishes guidelines for the issuance and usage of County-owned mobile
devices as well as procedures for monitoring and controlling costs related to mobile device use in connection with County business. This policy outlines guidelines for appropriate use, and other administrative and regulatory issues relating to mobile devices. This policy shall be enforced in accordance with all Federal, State and Local Laws as well as the current Human Resources Policies and Procedures Manual. |

- Only county-owned mobile devices will be allowed access to the county’s non-public network
- ALL text messages will be captured and stored, making them FOIAble and subject to legal discovery
- Approved apps loaded on county-owned devices will be pushed out through the County’s App Store

| The consequence of denial/inaction is that county would remain out of compliance to FOIA and records retention rules in regards to capturing text messages and other media and the continued use of personal devices on the county network making users responsible for maintaining records on their own devices. |
