| County staff recommends that the Board of Supervisors adopt the attached Spotsylvania County Grant Subcontracting and Subrecipient Policy and associated resolution. |

| | | | | | | | Summary:
| In order to subaward federal funds to another entity the County is required to have a policy for the assessment, issuance, monitoring, and closeout of subawarded grant funds. The current Spotsylvania County Grants Policy, which is currently in the process of being updated, does not meet the current federal requirements regarding the subawarding of federal funds.
The County currently has a grant award in which federal funds need to be subawarded to the Spotsylvania County Public Schools. The Grants Manager is respectfully requesting that the Spotsylvania County Grant Subcontracting and Subrecipient Policy be adopted at this time in order to allow the County to proceed with the subawarding of federal grant funds to the Schools. It is anticipated that the updated Spotsylvania County Grants Policy will be presented to the Board of Supervisors for their consideration and action at a future Board meeting. |
