| | | | | | | | Recommendation:
| Approve the award of a contract modification #4 to Austin Brockenbrough & Associates, LLP to provide professional engineering services for design of improvements for the courthouse sidewalk phase II & III project. The contract has been reviewed and approved as to form by the County Attorney’s Office. |
| | | | | | | | Summary:
| This is the fourth modification to the contract with Austin Brockenbrough & Associates, LLP to provide professional engineering services for design of improvements for the courthouse sidewalk phase II & III project. This modification will include construction engineering and inspection as well as support and coordination throughout the construction project from Notice to Proceed until construction completion. Modification #4 will increase the contract in the amount of $94,260.00. The State will reimburse the County 80% of this cost similar to the rest of the project costs. |
| | | | | | | | Financial Impact:
| Adequate funding is budgeted and appropriated within TR1102 for award of this contract for this purpose. |
| | | | | | | | Staff Contacts:
| Ben Loveday, Director of Utilities/Public Works
Scott Powell, Division Director, Utilities/Public Works
Brad Quann, Procurement Manager |
| | | | | | | | Legal Counsel:
| Jessica DesNoyer, Assistant County Attorney |
| | | | | | | | Additional Background/Other Considerations:
| Using a consultant for inspection and construction administration support for this project will ensure that all paperwork and requirements for Federal Enhancement Grant will be met. County staff does not have the personnel capacity to manage this type of project on their own. |
| | | | | | | | Consequence of Denial/Inaction:
| Failure to approve this contract modification #4 for design of improvements for the courthouse sidewalk phase II & III project will cause a delay in advertising the IFB for the construction of the sidewalk, which is a locally administered Federal Enhancement Grant Project. |
