Recommendation:
Approve the Purchase Order to Thyssenkrupp Elevator Corporation for Judicial Center elevator modernization in the amount of $326,581.00.
Summary:
A Request for Proposal (RFP) was issued for elevators, escalators, and moving walks with related equipment, services, accessories and supplies by National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) of which the County is a member. The County is purchasing the elevator modernization equipment from the awarded vendor, Thyssenkrupp Elevator Corporation.
Financial Impact:
Adequate funding is budgeted and appropriated within project GP0302, account 310-9120-802.89-03 for award of this contract for this purpose.

Additional Background/Other Considerations:
The Purchase Order has been approved as to form by the County Attorney’s Office.
Consequence of Denial/Inaction:
The four existing elevators within the Judicial Center (two passenger and two prisoner) were manufactured in February 1994 and have met their life expectancy.  These models are obsolete and require modernization for continued reliability.
