| An Invitation for Bid (IFB) was issued by the Spotsylvania County Procurement Division to solicit bids from qualified contractors for the Merchants Square Building Renovation project to include the additive alternate of a public restroom on the 3rd floor of the building. | This contract will provide construction services and materials for the renovation of the main lobby and three suites on the first floor at the Merchants Square building, for future use by the County. There is one additive alternate which is included, to provide a public restroom in the Department of Economic Development on the 3rd floor of the building. |

| Denial of the construction contract award will delay the project management efforts made to date, including design plans to maximize the unoccupied space on the first floor of Merchants Square for office space needs. The programming and design efforts that have been completed thus far will not be executed. |
