| As a result of restrictions by state legislature pertaining to the use of military armored vehicles, the Sheriff’s office was in need of replacing the vehicle used by the SWAT team for their protection during high risk situations. The cost of a new vehicle (Bearcat) would be approximately $270,000. This vehicle was found on the auction site GovDeals with restrictions for law enforcement only. The auction ended on March 31, 2021 with Spotsylvania County being the winning bidder. |
